Returning after a five year term in prison for a crime he didn't commit, to a town that sanctioned his conviction and to the cattle baron that murdered his father, Farin West was blinded by thoughts of revenge. He had become known as a dangerous man while he did his time at Yuma and even the thieves and killers of that hell hole avoided him.
Now he was going back to seek out those who had ruined his life and destroyed the world he had known. His only edge was that he no longer cared for money, comfort or even a decent life. His only thoughts were to make them pay and pay dearly.
But they knew he was coming and events would take him in many directions before he could finally confront those who had sent him away. His first rule was to trust no one, but he would learn that in order to stay alive long enough to see his plan through, he must come to rely on some old friends.
Out gunned, out numbered and out manoeuvred, he would play a deadly game of cat and mouse, right up to the final confrontation with the Kersey outfit.

The author has obviously lived this kind of life sometime in his illustrious lifetime. He pays attention to the details that makes the story line become real, and for a moment, the reader becomes riveted to it as though he is there in person...sometimes wanting to become part of the situation himself. A good read.Product details

Farin West edition by Brad Dixon Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I have never been a reader of non-fiction so when my son told me of this book, I took my time getting to read it. Recently I was on a business trip and thought it would be a great time to break out Farin West. To my surprise, I loved it! I had trouble putting the book down as it was a creative fast moving story with a realistic story. I found myself racing to the next page just so I could see what was going to happen. The story was all summed up to a very strong ending. Mr. Dixon has spiked my interest in future stories, and I can't wait for his next adventure. I would highly reccomend this book to all. Good clean fun to read!
I had the pleasure of meeting Brad and I have to say he is a very interesting man with many talents. When I learned he had written a book, I decided to take some time to read my first western, Farin West. I didn't know what to expect, as I typically only read required text books. After the first few pages I knew the book would be an easy and enjoyable read. The excitement it started with became more and more gripping throughout. I must admit, at first I wasn't thrilled about reading a western (I've never enjoyed western movies or TV shows.)Surprisingly, I found a new appreciation for "Western" gallantry. Thank you Brad for adding a new realm to my world. Patiently waiting for the next one -)
I used to read masses of western books when I was younger, L'Amour, Grey and all the Dollar books, loved them all. It's been a long time though since an author has captured the authentic feel of the Old West in the way that Dixon has managed here. I first came across this when I heard that it had been short listed for the BBC to convert and thought I'd give it a go.
Fantastic action with some brilliant set pieces. The main character, West, is strong and you are drawn into his world quickly, caring about what happens.
Welcome back the quality Western!
I have not enjoyed a good western novel in many years. Thanks Brad Dixon for restoring this genre. This book was well written, had a complex enough plot to keep you on the edge of your seat and characters that were well developed. I could almost smell the cattle and at times felt that I needed to knock the dust off of my clothes. Mr. Dixon's descriptive ability was wonderful. Thanks for such a great read!
I know Brad personally and think he did a great job. The best western I read since Louis Lamour.
Great western read. Kept my interest. Stayed up till one AM to finish it. Looking forward to more from this author
I am not an avid reader and consequently have a hard time finishing a book once I start it. Farin West was an exception to that. I picked it up and was able to finish in a short amount of time. I credit that to the characters, action and method of writing in which Brad pulls the reader into the plot. I would recommend the book especially for those who enjoy seeing the good guy finish the way they should in the end. I'll look forward to another one in the future.
